We take seriously our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare and wellbeing of all the children entrusted to our care.
Our school is a community and all those directly connected (staff, governors, parents, families and pupils) have an essential role to play in making it safe and secure. We are committed to making every check and asking every question, however awkward, to ensure the safety and protection of the children in our care.
We also welcome any suggestions and comments that will contribute to this process. This can be done by contacting the head teacher or other staff members directly, by meeting with members of staff, contacting school governors, through feedback during parent consultations and parent questionnaires.
We recognise the importance of providing a school culture and environment that helps children to feel safe, secure and respected; confident to approach trusted adults and talk openly; and enable them to feel assured that they will be listened to and their concerns and questions acted on.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead DSL is Hugh Greenwood our Headteacher and the deputy DSL in Judy Caudwell our SENCo.
