Please use the information below to support you as you apply for your child's secondary school.
You can register for the Medway Test and should apply for a secondary school place if your child is currently in Year 5 and will be in Year 6 in September 2026.
If your child has an education, health and care plan (EHCP) you will need to complete a different form. Find out more about applying for a school place for a child with an EHC plan by clicking HERE.

| Monday 22nd June 2026 | Closing date for special arrangements requests from schools |
| Tuesday 1st September 2026 | Secondary school applications open |
| Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th September 2026 | Medway Test dates for children who attend Medway primary and junior schools |
| Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th September 2026 | Medway Test date for children from non-Medway schools One day will be allocated to each child who attends a non-Medway primary or junior school |
| Wednesday 14th October 2026 | Results of the Medway Test |
| Saturday 31st October 2026 | Secondary school applications close |
| Monday 1st March 2027 | Offers sent to parents and carers |
| Friday 12th March 2027 | Deadline for accepting/refusing offers and waiting requests |
| Tuesday 13th April 2027 | Deadline for on-time appeal requests |
| Monday 19th April 2027 | Re-allocation of school places and processing of late applciations |
