Applying for Secondary Schools - Admissions September 2024
Please use the information below to support you as you apply for your child's secondary school.
You can register for the Medway Test and should apply for a secondary school place if your child was born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013.
If your child has an education, health and care plan (EHCP) you will need to complete a different form. Find out more about applying for a school place for a child with an EHC plan by clicking HERE.

| Tuesday 4th July 2023 | Closing date for special arrangements requests from schools |
| 9am on Monday 4th September 2023 | Secondary school applications open |
| Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th September 2023 | Medway Test dates for children who attend Medway primary and junior schools |
| Saturday 16th or Sunday 17th September 2023 | Medway Test date for children from non-Medway schools. One day will be allocated to each child who attends a non-Medway primary or junior school. |

| 10am on Monday 9th October 2023 | Closing date for receiving Medway Test review requests |
| 4pm on Tuesday 10th October 2023 | Deadline for primary and junior schools to submit review work to Medway Council |

| Friday 20th October 2023 | Review decisions posted to parents and carers |
| 5pm on Tuesday 31st October 2023 | Secondary school applications close |
| Friday 1st March 2024 | Offers sent to parents and carers |
| Thursday 28th March 2024 | Deadline for accepting/refusing offers, waiting requests and appeal requests |
| Monday 22nd April 2024 | Re-allocation of school places and processing of late applications |
| Tuesday 31st December 2024 | End of admissions process and waiting lists close |

| Tuesday 16th October 2024 | Assessment decisions notified to parents/carers |
| Thursday 31st October 2024 | Closing date for secondary school applications National Closing Date |
| Monday 3rd March 2025 | Secondary school offers notified to parents/carers National Offer Day |
| By Friday 28th March 2025 | Places must be accepted/refused and requests to go on a waiting list and appeals must be submitted |
| W/C Monday 21st April 2025 until Wednesday 31st December 2025 | The Council re-allocates any places that have become available to those who have asked to go on the waiting lists for each school |
