Intent

At Wainscott Primary School, we provide a wide and diverse range of opportunities for children to investigate and understand the natural and human world around them; fostering curiosity about diverse places, people, resources and environments. By broadening and developing learning experiences within Geography, children will gain a deeper understanding of other cultures and encourage them to take responsibility for their own role in society including caring for others, animals and plants in our environment. Wainscott children will experience a creative, multisensory Geography curriculum involving opportunities for consolidation, challenge and progress. We hope to promote a fascination of the world and provide rich, cultural experiences which will result in our children becoming active and caring members of the local community. They will achieve this by participating in community activities, making a difference and further educating themselves about environmental issues. Children will have a sense of place, belonging and identification in their school, home and the wider world.
