School Welcome

Welcome To

Wainscott Primary School and Nursery

Safeguarding

Here at Wainscott we take our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare and wellbeing of all the children entrusted to our care very seriously. We have a safeguarding team, made up of specially trained staff, who will be happy to discuss any safeguarding or child protection concerns or queries you may have.

Our school is a community and all those directly connected (staff, governors, parents, families and pupils) have an essential role to play in making it safe and secure. We are committed to making every check and asking every question, however awkward, to ensure the safety and protection of the children in our care.

We recognise the importance of providing a school culture and environment that helps children feel safe, secure and respected; confident to approach trusted adults and talk openly; and enable them to feel assured that they will be listened to and their concerns and questions acted on. We also welcome any suggestions and comments that will contribute to the process.

Pupil safeguarding and the promotion of Fundamental British Values are at the heart of all our work at Wainscott Primary and Nursery School and great importance is placed on identifying opportunities within the curriculum for children to learn about safeguarding. Our broad and diverse curriculum gives pupils the chance to experience life in all its diversity, to acquire knowledge, understanding and skills that significantly impact on personal development, behaviour and welfare and equip every child with the knowledge and skills required for personal safeguarding.

In every school

Our aim is to enable staff in every school to understand how to support children who are experiencing domestic abuse, no matter where in the world the child lives.

For every child

Our aim is to ensure all child experiencing domestic abuse receive timely support in their school, no matter where in the world the child lives.

Podcast 1- Staying Safe Online

A series of podcasts created by our Year 6 pupils. Creative media experts, Collaborate Digital worked with a selection of pupils in which they were challenged to create a short podcast. The aim of these podcasts is to spread the word to other young people about how to enjoy a healthy online life, whilst avoiding potential threats and dangers.
