Applying for Secondary Schools - Admissions September 2026
Please use the information below to support you as you apply for your child's secondary school.
You can register for the Medway Test and should apply for a secondary school place if your child is currently in Year 5 and will be in Year 6 in September 2025.
If your child has an education, health and care plan (EHCP) you will need to complete a different form. Find out more about applying for a school place for a child with an EHC plan by clicking HERE.

| Friday 13th June 2025 4pm | Registration for the Medway Test closes |
| Monday 23rd June 2025 | Closing date for special arrangements requests from schools |
| Monday 1st September 2025 | Secondary school applications open |
| Tuesday 16th/ Wednesday 17th September 2025 | Medway Test dates for children who attend Medway primary and junior schools |
| Saturday 20th/Sunday 21st September 2025 | Medway Test date for children from non-Medway schools One day will be allocated to each child who attends a non-Medway primary or junior school |
| Wednesday 15th October 2025 | Assessment decisions notified to parents/carers |
| Friday 31st October 2025 5pm | Secondary school applications close |
| Monday 2nd March 2026 | Offers sent to parents and carers |
| Friday 27th March 2026 | Deadline for accepting/refusing offers, waiting requests and appeal requests |
| w/c 20 April 2026 until 31 August 2026 | The Council re-allocates any places that have become available to those who have asked to go on the waiting lists for each school |
