Soft Start Provision

Soft start is a provision to support children who are finding the start of the school day difficult and would therefore benefit from a quieter, more relaxed entry to school. The children are offered a space in our school to sit and relax, chat to others in a small group and spend time checking in with an adult. Soft Start provides children an opportunity to decompress and regulate before starting their school day. 

The provision runs Monday-Friday at 8:30-8:50am and entry is from invitation by the Inclusion team only. The children are met every morning by Mrs Constable via the school office. Mrs Constable plans some daily activities that the children can choose to participate in and they are offered a light breakfast.
